Sheffield Haworth, the industry-leading global financial services executive search firm, is pleased to announce that it has hired Bruce Baker as Managing Director and Head of Tokyo. The search firm currently has 3 offices in Asia: Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo covering the breadth of East Asia, Southeast Asia and Australasia.
Bruce is a veteran of the Japanese executive search market with over 20 years’ experience. He joins Sheffield Haworth from Russell Reynolds Associates, Tokyo. Prior to that, and for many years, he ran his own specialist practice, Bruce Baker & Co., which in 2006 was voted the best overall financial recruitment firm in Japan (2006 Asiamoney Poll of Japan Search Consultants). Bruce himself has been ranked the overall best individual search consultant in Japan as well as, on various occasions, the leader in the following categories: investment banking, corporate finance, M&A, ECM, buy side, hedge funds, private equity, private banking, cash equities and derivatives and structured products.
Sheffield Haworth has also appointed Masayuki Koito as Head of Research for Japan. A graduate in law from Aoyama Gakuin University, Masayuki was also previously with Russell Reynolds Associates and before that spent ten years as Head of Research for Japan with Eban.
Simon Roberts, Group COO and Head of Asia Pacific, said: “We are delighted to bring both Bruce and Koito san on board. We have invested this year in our Asian platform with continued growth in Hong Kong and now, newly opened offices in Singapore and Tokyo. I see these recent hires as key to ensuring high quality execution for our clients, such that they continue to perceive Sheffield Haworth as their partner for senior level hiring across the region."
